Babies need to explore their world. So Jen made sure that the house is baby-proof and there is no chance that Sam can squeeze into tight spaces where there are cords or outlets or places baby can get "lost."
One will not find heaters just sitting around for baby to slam into other furniture or pull on top of himself ... or burn himself on.
Sam never plays on the kitchen floor where Jen leaves bits of jalapenos and other detritus. Even if she cleaned the floor, she would never let him play there while she is cooking and the stove is spitting hot oil, and she is dropping knives and heavy kitchen appliances.
Nope. Sam is always safely penned in and is perfectly happy in this confined space. He is just as happy in here as, say, I am locked in the utility room.
