Jacques Pepin

Make sure you can hear the background noise. Recognize the voice? It's Jacques Pepin. Why is that so important? Because it means Jen is watching TV while she should be working on building Teddy's IQ. See all the sharp edges just waiting to poke his eyes out? If that train was made in China, Teddy is chewing on lead, for sure.

Eating Habits

We know that good eating habits start at home. But, with the second child, Jen has gotten a bit lazy. Teddy really needs to be able to feed himself at this early age. Jen says she is trying to build his independence early (read: she just can't be bothered). So he is using a spoon already. That's good.
But he is also given "finger foods" that maximize calories so that Jen doesn't have to feed him so often. At least one meal a day is chocolate ice cream on a sugar cone, of course. (Is it me or are those hard to find these days?) When asked about tooth decay, Jen retorts that baby teeth fall out anyway, what's the difference if they are rotten or not when they do?

Sometimes Teddy gets desperately hungry and tests the digestibility of inedible objects. Terrible.

Bad Baby

It's good to see Jen finally trying to discipline these kids. You must start early. We can see that Teddy will be a hard nut to crack. But I am sure Jen and Josh will keep at it.

Oh, My Nerves

Look at them. Laughing, dancing, enjoying themselves. The wretches.

So the bear is giving us a blow by blow of its state of being: sleepy, happy, hungry. Jen would have the creators go back to the drawing board and add overstimulated. Apparently, Santa Claus is Jen's nemesis, which I find amusing. Many of us are aware of her issues with noise. A lot of her disciplinary actions arise from stimuli that fall under the category Not allowed because it hurts Mommy's ears. Most of Sam and Teddy's gifts this past Christmas make noise, a lot of noise. This doesn't really bother me as long as the offensive toys are not mobile. Unfortunately, there are a couple of cars that make a racket and then sail across the room, right at my legs as well as at human ankles. Teddy just smacks at his toys contentedly. Sam is much more nefarious. His methodology it to continually hit the same button so that the beginning of the same noise starts over and over and over. Jen loves this. You can set your watch to her meltdown. She starts out fine, like, Oh, kids. I can handle this. Then she enters slightly irritated phase, Oh, go to my happy place. It's just noise. Stage 3 is apoplexy. All involved, including the toy, must take a rest, with or without wine. It's like those Edwardian tales where the ladies frequently rest because of their Nerves.
