Things like this make me so happy. Ah. I get to be in the warmest room in the house while enjoying some literature. I was so contented that I wanted to show Jen and Josh my appreciation - you know, a little reward. So, I found a nice fat rat, killed and decapitated it, then left it in the driveway for them to find this morning. I heard Jen gasp in delight. You're welcome.

O's
Jen really needs to try harder. She gives up so easily and reverts to Cheerios. She only makes waffles, muffins, and couscous pudding for breakfast. Then it's egg, muffin, and fruit for lunch. That's it? You just give up and throw some Os down when he doesn't want any of that? Pathetic.

iPhone
Sam figured this phone out pretty quick. He isn't even interested in Jen's dinosaur of a phone anymore.
My favorite part is when Jen starts talking about the doctor's appointment.

Tails
Oh, isn't he sweet? He says "meow" when he sees a cat. When I come in from the cold, Sam is excited and chases me around. He loves to point out my ears, eyes, and nose, gently touching each one.
But my tail.
Oh, he can say "tail." Oh, he has been instructed numerous times that I do not like to have it pulled - that it hurts to have it pulled. But every stinking time! Come on! He has a good grab. And if you try to pull him off, of course, that just pulls my tail. So I hear exhortations while I swing around, jaws agape, ready to discipline. But I don't. I just repeat, "Don't pull!" Please. Someone stop him. When will it sink in?

Eating Habits
Things have recently gotten out of hand. Look at me. I eat the same thing every day and, not only does my fur gleam, but I am also no worse for wear. Like it would kill this kid to eat the same thing two days in a row. Above we see the effect of Jen just wanting to get more calories in the tyke. What's that he's eating? Almond CAKE. That's right. Dessert for breakfast because he refused his homemade waffle. Do I get homemade cat food? No. Do I complain? No.

Oh, excuse me. Do Cheerios taste that much better when eaten off the couch? I thought there was no eating on the new couch! I know exactly what happened here: Sam didn't eat whatever his homemade lunch was. Jen figured that he was still hungry and offered Cheerios. The couch is the only place Sam wanted to consume them. Voila!

Oh, excuse me once again. Are we doing requests now?

Chinese
In today's economy, you must be ready. China's quasi-market economy is on Sam's mind as of late. Jen's not pushing it, per se, she is just making it available. Let the child (seem to) choose.

Christmas Revisited
We all got two Christmases this year. First, the Sorensons came up the weekend before Christmas - you remember - I got to sleep in the warm room. Merry Xmas to Rufus. Then, we had Christmas a week later with Grammy and the Shiers. It was merry for me because everyone left the house and went to Olympia. That means I got to traipse around town all day and well into the night. I wasn't embarrassed around 8pm, as I usually am by someone calling my name. Gosh.
Sam also had a good season, doubling his booty with the two Christmases. He got a band in a box. Cousin Amy wanted to make sure that Sam can freely express himself musically, if he so chooses. Jen keeps trying to instruct Sam in how to use the instruments (why?!), but he likes to put everything back in the drum and carry it around saying, "heavy, heavy."

Part of his Santa take was a recycling truck. Times are changing! No garbage truck. No no. Recycling! With a multicultural crew! The truck even collects yard waste.

I am a big fan of Mr. Potato Head. I like to bat around his ears best.
This gift perhaps best shows my influence over Sam. There is nothing in that box - well, the doll is no longer in the box, but Sam continues to play with it. He was shoving paper inside and pulling it out. He threw the box, too. All that was left was to use his hindies to bat it around the room. Good boy.
