So Sam returned from his time in SB a bit changed. He has come into his own ... with certain feline influences. In this photo we see him letting everyone know that it is time to go outside. He even says "outside" and gets on his hat, grabs his shoes, and begins to caterwaul by the door. The longer anyone takes to get him outside, the more insistent he becomes. "Insistent" is a euphemism for "loud and obnoxious." I like to think that he learned how to be his way from me. I mean, we make horrendous sounds in order to get our needs met immediately. No one wants to listen to whining or screaming, do they? Ergo, nothing gets you food or outside faster.

Did you hear about the plane ride back with Jen? I'm so proud of the kid. He screamed numerous times, scratched Jen's face and neck so that she bled, and tried to bite her kneecap not once, not twice, but THREE times. Man! I really thought he wasn't paying attention to my lessons about confined spaces and being made to partake in transportation options that one objects to. But he was.

Jen's emotional reserves are so overtaxed that Sam now has Elmo Time daily. Of course, he tries to have Elmo all day, testing the waters several times with "Elmo! Elmo!" while reaching for the TV. Jen, so far, only lets him watch in the evening. Hm. This is also, coincidentally, cocktail hour.

In conclusion, Sam has become more willful and vocal and ... pleasant to be around, actually. We can now whine by the door together, scream to get what we want, and bite Jen when we don't. Ah, brothers.
